Looking for male mentors (ages 18 years-30 years) to facilitate our Game On! mentoring program. This weekly progam is comprised of 7-10 sessions that will teach young boys about Healthy Eating, Active Living, Wise Decision Making, and Developing a Positive Self-Esteem. The programs typically run during the elementary school day, each session lasting about 1.5 hours. The program is 7-10 sessions in length, with 8-12 boys in each group. You will facilitate the group with a co-mentor.  
 
The program is designed to be FUN and interactive through games, discussions and snack time.

Mentor young girls (grades 6-8) by discussing Healthy Eating, Active Living, and Positive Self-Esteem. Facilitate (along with a Co-mentor) 7-10 hour and a half (90 minute) sessions (once per week) that are fun and interactive. 
 
Sessions typically take place during the school day and include a series of fun games, activities, demonstrations, crafts, snacks and discussions. We provide a program binder that outlines all of the games and activities - it is your job as the Mentor to facilitate those activities and make it FUN!

Are you willing to spend an hour a week to have a positive impact in the life of a child or youth? 
 
Big Brothers Big Sisters is currently looking for caring, responsible people to become volunteer mentors to guide children and youth (ages 6-16). 
 
What we do today makes a difference tomorrow. One hour per week is all it takes for In-School Mentoring and 2-4 hours weekly for a Big Brother or Big Sister. 
 
This minimal time investment will have a lifetime impact on a child. A little time can make a BIG difference. 
 
We also have a need for event volunteers and group mentors to assist us throughout the year with numerous events that help benefit the children and youth in our community. 
 
Mentoring relationships make a big difference in the life of a child. Research has shown that children and youth with Mentors are more likely to graduate from University/College, are less likely to abuse alcohol or drugs, and are generally more successful as adults. They also show increases in self-esteem and their overall level of self-confidence. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities 
 
Maintain regular dialogue with program staff at BBBS throughout the match. 
Be a friend and role model to their mentee, and maintain contact on a regular and consistent basis. 
Place primary importance upon the protection and wellbeing of children and youth.

Police check and vulnerable sector required 
G Driving License with access to a carAble to commit for one year 
Successfully complete each phase of the Agency’s enrollment process

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara Falls (BBBSNF) is accepting applications for volunteer Board Members. Big Brothers Big Sisters is committed to creating mentorship experiences that enhance a child’s self-worth so that they are happier today and better citizen tomorrow. BBBSNF is seeking to augment our Board with a candidate that brings with them legal and/or financial backgrounds. Board Members are expected to attend and participate in monthly Board meetings, the Annual General meeting and support fundraising efforts when able. As a Board Member, your commitment would include a 2 hour meeting each month with another 1-2 hours per month for review and occasional events. Additional meetings may be scheduled as required. Successful candidates will require a police check.  
 
As BBBSNF moves forward over the next year, BBBSNF is exploring opportunities for organizational synergies with Big Brothers Big Sisters South Niagara. As such, board member terms may be limited to two years.
