Volunteer Mentors will: 
-successfully complete each phase of the Agency’s enrollment process 
-Participate in Pre-Match Training administered by the Agency or partnering organization. 
-maintain regular dialogue with program staff and/or the partnering organization throughout the match 
-be a friend to their mentee, and maintain contact on a regular and consistent basis 
-be a positive role model, emphasizing behaviour such as trust, respect, reliability, honesty, fairness, commitment, resilience, kindness 
-place primary importance upon the protection and well-being of children and youth 
-be supervised and supported by, and remain accountable to, program staff

Are you willing to spend an hour a week to have a positive impact in the life of a child or youth? 
Big Brothers Big Sisters is currently looking for caring, responsible people to become volunteer mentors to guide children and youth (ages 6-16). 
What we do today makes a difference tomorrow. One hour per week is all it takes for In-School Mentoring! 
This minimal time investment will have a lifetime impact on a child. A little time can make a BIG difference. 
Mentoring relationships make a big difference in the life of a child. Research has shown that children and youth with Mentors are more likely to graduate from University/College, are less likely to abuse alcohol or drugs, and are generally more successful as adults. They also show increases in self-esteem and their overall level of self-confidence. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities:  
• Maintain regular dialogue with program staff at BBBS throughout the match. 
• Be a friend and role model to their mentee, and maintain contact on a regular and consistent basis. 
• Place primary importance upon the protection and wellbeing of children and youth.

We also have a need for event volunteers and group mentors to assist us throughout the year with numerous events that help benefit the children and youth in our community.

Requirements 
 
18 years + 
Police check and vulnerable sector required 
G Driving License with access to a carAble to commit for one year
