Women's Place of South Niagara, Niagara Falls - Nova House
The board of directors is the legal authority for Women’s Place of South Niagara Inc., an incorporated, non-profit, charitable organization which operates two women’s shelters in the Niagara Region to support survivors of domestic violence.
By providing effective governance and strategic leadership, and by acting as ambassadors for Women’s Place, board members ensure that the agency is able to effectively continue its efforts to provide safe shelter and support services to women and children fleeing abuse in our community.
While applications are requested by the end of December 2017, the agency will continue to accept applications until suitable candidates are found for the current vacancies. Applications will be kept on file for up to 2 years for consideration for future openings.

Contact Niagara provides information and access to children's mental health services, children's developmental services and autism services across the Niagara Region, supported by the Ministries of Children and Youth Services and Community and Social Services. Board Member recruitment occurs during the spring of each year, with selection and voting of candidates at the Annual General Meeting in September each year.
We are seeking individuals for the Board of Directors for INCommunities. We are non-profit community-based information and referral resource centre. We also deliver language interpreting services through our Interpreters Niagara Hamilton program and we offer volunteer resources through our Volunteer Connections Program. We are one of seven organizations that provide the 211 telephone answering service to residents of Ontario. Recently our organization expanded to answer 211 telephone calls for all of Central South Ontario.
We are looking for individual(s) who reside or work in one of the Central South Communities which are: Niagara Region, Hamilton, Brantford/Brant County, Haldimand/Norfolk Counties, Waterloo Region, Guelph/Wellington County, and Halton Region. Additionally, individuals must be:
- able to commit to a monthly evening meeting
- familiar with a policy governance model
The office and monthly Board meetings are currently in St. Catharines. However tele-meeting options can be explored.
