As the Volunteer Run Director, Logistics your time will be spent managing and empowering the committee members tasked with driving all logistical elements of the CIBC Run for the Cure.  
While collaborating with your Co-Volunteer Run Director and staff, you will lead a team of volunteers who will develop and execute a site plan, organize a 1km and 5km route, and recruit a team of volunteers to support all local Run activities. Safety is a priority during the planning process for you and your team.  
Through collaboration with your Co-Volunteer Run Director you will lead meetings, motivate your committee, and act as a local ambassador for the Society. You will assist in identifying vacant committee positions, and work with your fellow committee members to fill any voids, in collaboration with the Society. The Society is confident your leadership will ensure the Run site’s fundraising goal is top of mind by working with committee members to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner  
Throughout your volunteer experience you will receive the constant support of the staff at the Society who will answer your questions, provide guidance, and connect you with other Run volunteer leaders.

Work with a peer facilitator to develop and implement a climate action project in your municipality advocating for more aggressive action to mitigate climate change by the City Council if a youth. Looking for male mentors (ages 18 years-35 years) to facilitate our Game On! mentoring program. This weekly progam is comprised of 7-10 sessions that will teach young boys about Healthy Eating, Active Living, Wise Decision Making, and Developing a Positive Self-Esteem. The programs typically run during the elementary school day, each session lasting about 1.5 hours. The program is 7-10 sessions in length, with 8-12 boys in each group. You will facilitate the group with a co-mentor.  
 
The program is designed to be FUN and interactive through games, discussions and snack time.

Mentor a child one hour per week, during school hours. Be a positive and supportive role model to a child. All visits occur during the school year, and on school property. Meet with your 'mentee' one hour per week and engage in fun, social activities - such as games, gym time, reading, puzzles, computers, crafts, baking etc. 
 
This minimal time investment will have a lifetime impact on a child. A little time can make a BIG difference.
