Positive Living Niagara
Knitting or crocheting red scarves for our special awareness event called The Red Scarf Campaign. We are aiming for 500 scarves for this event. We put information about Positive Living Niagara and HIV on a tag and attach it to the scarves. The scarves are then hung in the city streets for people to take. We can supply yarn for this or will gladly accept donations. Ideal size of the scarves is 6 inches wide by 60 inches long.

Volunteers in our shop work in pairs (so if you like, bring a friend and volunteer together!). Volunteers open or close the shop (depending on your preference and availability), provide customer service, operate the cash register and point-of-sale machine, sell fudge and preserves from our fudge counter, and do very limited general maintenance of the store (tidy shelves and racks and food areas). Shifts are 3.5 hours long--morning shifts are from 10am to 1:30pm; afternoon shifts are from 1:30pm to 5pm. We are open 7 days a week, so you can choose a time that works with your schedule. We invite volunteers to try out the volunteering experience in our store before deciding whether they would like to continue volunteering with us. Students who seek community service hours are also welcome to work with us on Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons, managing customer service in our Preserves and Fudge counter areas.
