The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is seeking in the Hamilton and surrounding area a Recruitment Coordinator Volunteer for the Community Connector Project supporting the Health TAPESTRY Program. Reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator, the volunteer will provide human resources support during the day to day operations. The key responsibilities below are categorized. 
 
 
Key Responsibilities 
 
May require deployment domestically 
 
Administrative Duties 
Working in areas of recruitment, scheduling, and site coordination, 
Performs outbound calls/email and electronic tracking regarding volunteer availability, scheduled shifts and/or confirmations, 
Ensures dissemination and tracking of on-boarding and off-boarding activities at site, 
Provides reports to the Volunteer Coordinator as requested. 
 
Customer Service 
Assist with and implements internal and external recruitment strategies, and negotiates recruitment expectations, when necessary, 
Reports any trends identified to improve Volunteer Resource Management, 
Advises applicants of position requirements, and respond to inquiries from prospective volunteers, 
Meets and welcomes all volunteers, new and returning at site, 
Ensures all new volunteers receive a site orientation prior to assignment at first shift, 
Interacts with Health TAPESTRY personnel with care and refers out of scope inquiries to the Volunteer Coordinator, 
Observes and educates others on routine precautions to ensure occupational health and safety standards including use of required personal protective equipment and hand hygiene, 
Collaborates with Health TAPESTRY colleagues to ensure efficient and effective operations. 
 
Perform other duties as assigned 
 
 
Non-Key Responsibilities 
 
Administrative Duties 
Updating Health TAPESTRY volunteer’s availability data, 
Provides reports to the Volunteer Coordinator as requested. 
 
Customer Service 
Member of the volunteer interview team, assisting with the interviewing of new volunteers, 
Assist with follow-up calls and exit interviews. 
 
Perform other duties as assigned 
 
 
Qualifications 
 
The incumbent must have the commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Movement. 
 
Education and Experience 
 
Candidate must be in pursuit of or has achieved a diploma or degree in Human Resources, Volunteer Resources, Business Administration or related field and/or equivalent of a minimum of 2 years of job related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
 
Experience working in volunteer recruitment setting is an asset 
Computer literacy essential 
Experience working in fast paced work environment an asset

Domestic travel may be required

Are you someone who has a strong desire to be part of a solution for women in crisis? We are looking for reliable, compassionate and confident volunteers who would be working as the first point of contact in a busy shelter for homeless women and children. A background or strong interest in administrative duties are preferable. Duties would include:  
 
- Take phone calls and messages for guests and staff 
- Refer inquiries and client concerns to the appropriate person  
- Assist with clerical needs of staff 
- Ensure lobby is being used in appropriate manner (i.e. no horseplay, guests acting in appropriate manner) 
- Accept donations and program fee payments, ensure they are put in the proper place and information is recorded properly.

To research images in the Standard Collection using microfilmed copies of the St.Catharines Standard newspaper, to index and organize the Collection and to cross-reference between microfilmed images and existing negatives. 
1. Scan through St. Catharines Stanadar newspaper microfilm to identify photographs and editorial cartoons 
2. Scan images to computer, apply appropriate file name and store in proper format 
3. Organize files according to year in which images appeared in newspaper 
4. Carry out research applicable to later cataloguing of photographs 
5. Match negatives in the collection to images scanned from the newspaper 
6. Organize negatives 
7. Monitor and maintain a safe work area

3. Store artifact and manage locations by means of up-to-date inventory controls 
4. Carry out research applicable to cataloguing photographs 
5. Handle and clean artifacts according to accepted museum procedures 
6. Prepare Condition/Treatment Reports and undertake basic conservation of artifacts
