|Description (Service)||A charitable agency, owned and operated by Niagara Peninsula Homes, that provides the following training to women:
Computer Technology Career Launch (8 weeks): Trains women to gain confidence with computer technologies and certification necessary to find employment or continue their education in the career of their choice. Includes certification in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Skills include website content management and basic graphic design using Canva. Program also focuses on developing a career goal through a variety of career assessments and workshops. Placements are available for successful graduates.
Dietary Server Program: This 3 week program trains women interested in developing or enhancing skills required to gain employment in long term care homes or retirement residences. Guest speakers, training and tours of local agencies. Includes certification in Safe Food Handling, WHMIS, Customer Service Excellence, and Smart Serve. The program also provides the first course towards achievement of Niagara College's Dietary Aide Certification.
Tax Preparation Certificate: In partnership with Liberty Tax, this 10- week program offers a chance to learn about professional tax preparation with possibility for job placement for successful graduates.
Virtual Assistant Certificate Program. In partnership with yourvamentor.com , this program offers tips and techniques to take your skills online as an independent virtual assistant. This is a career offering with great growth opportunties for the years ahead,
Code PINK Program: This is a program designed to give women confidence, encouragement, enthusiasm and skills to learn computer coding. Certification in basic CSS, HTML and Jave Script
Wine Country Basics: This 8-day course gives and overview of Niagara's winery industry and a chance towrite the Wine Council of Ontario exam. Customer service skills, Smart Serve and Safe Food Handling Certification is included.
Safe Food Handling (1.5 days): This training is delivered throughout the region at various times of the year.
All of Niagara Women's Enterprise Centre's Certificate Programs provide personalized co-operative learning experiences with local employers and/or community agencies.Training is offered throughout the Niagara Region and/or online
