Service and Access Details
Description (Service) A registered, non-profit, charitable organization providing gently-used home furnishings to eligible families throughout the Niagara Region * accepts donations from the public, hotels, residences and furniture stores 
 
Donated items must be in reusable condition * items deemed unsuitable cannot be picked up nor receipted * charitable receipts will be provided for suitable furnishings * charitable receipts are based on current market value at a set price and are non-negotiable unless a copy of a valid appraisal (done at own expense) is provided to the driver at the time of item collection

Items that cannot be collected: * broken or stained items * office furniture * clothes * baby furniture * sofa bed * clothing * decorative items/knickknacks * entertainment units * electronics  
 
Some household items may be picked-up free of charge by other organizations or through city garbage collection however they either go to land fill or are sold * Niagara Furniture Bank redistributes items to the families and individuals who apply for service through partnered social service agencies including Ontario Works, Ontario Disability, Community Mental Health, Canadian Mental Health Association, YWCA Shelters, Gillians Place, Hannah House, Southridge Shelter, Family and Childrens Services, NCIL, Port Cares, Hope Centre, Community Cares, Housing Help Centre, Gateway Niagara

Eligibility No restrictions
Application To access donations, individuals/families must be referred by a partnered social agency such as: Ontario Works (OW), Family and Children's Services (FACS), Community Mental Health, Gateway Niagara, YWCA, South Ridge Shelter and Community Care - Housing Help Centre. 
 
The individual should speak with their caseworker/ advocate about the referral process. Organizations in the Niagara Region wanting to apply to be a referring partner can call/ e-mail the office and arrange a meeting, to discuss becoming a referring agency to the Niagara Furniture Bank. 
 
Individuals/families not registered to any of the above agencies can call the office to further discuss options on how they may still be able to receive furnishings.

Fees Service - Outdoor Pick Up - (includes garage, driveway, porch, sun room) starts at $35; Indoor Pick Up - starts at $50; Apartment Pick Up - starts at $65; Delivery - call for information ; Donation - Charitable tax receipt issued to donor for all items donated ; Fee includes up 5 items and 3 boxes. Will give a set price for anything above the 5 items
