Description (Service) Independent regional advisory body led by local business and labour sectors and including representation from other stakeholders * engages communities in a locally-driven process to identify and respond to key trends, opportunities and priorities to help improve conditions of the local labour market * facilitates a local planning process and opportunities where community organizations and institutions agree to initiate and/or implement joint actions, activities and projects * organizes events and activities that promote the importance of education, training and skills upgrading * maintains an immigrant mentorship program for internationally trained professionals, which aids highly trained newcomers in finding work in their field by helping them to establish a local professional network and better understand the Canadian perspectives on their field of expertise.
