| Description (Service) | A local, environmental not-for-profit that promotes wise land stewardship and management practices. Committed to creating a healthy and sustainable rural and urban environment consisting of citizens who are knowledgeable and ecologically aware of land resource management. The council aims to promote and enhance responsible land use practices through encouraging awareness of the range of values in the community; minimizing conflicts through information and communication; educating and providing the best information on responsible land management; and creating partnerships between landowners/land users/agencies and interest groups. Local delivery agent for the provincial Forests Ontario 50 Million Tree program. Visit the website for more details under 'Rural Tree Planting Program.' Other programs include; Re-Leaf Tree Nursery (Urban Tree Planting Program), Species at Risk work and Woodworking for Nature Volunteer, sponsorship and partnerships are a key component of the work Land Care Niagara does.
