Description (Service) | COVID-19: In person services have resumed at Welland Ave, St Catharines location with physical distancing measures in place. Contact to book an appointment. Same day services continue to be available via phone and Ontario Telemedicine Network videoconferencing.
A voluntary non-medical facility * provides crisis counselling and a safe, therapeutic environment for men and women to stay throughout a mental health crisis as an alternative to hospitalization * average length of stay is three to five days * seven beds are available |

Eligibility | Ages: 16 year(s) and up Individuals experiencing a self identified mental health crisis, who are agreeable to the service, who are not impaired by alcohol or drugs and who do not pose a health and safety risk to themselves or others. |
Application | Appropriate referrals for the Safe Bed Program can come from therapists, counsellors, Psychiatrists, Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, Psychologists, Community Agencies or any other professionals with a working knowledge of current situation and relevant history |
