Service and Access Details
Description (Service) A region-wide initiative that offers support and co-ordination for nutrition programs in both elementary and secondary schools. Offers support to student nutrition programs through provincial grants and local fundraising efforts. Works together with site-based volunteers to meet the needs of student nutrition programs in each community. 
 
By offering a balanced meal, a safe and stimulating environment, and social and emotional support to children, Niagara Nutrition Partners provides several benefits.  
 
* improves attendance and punctuality  
* increases understanding of how healthy eating habits affect energy levels  
* improves behavior and increases concentration, leading to greater achievement  
* improves social skills and confidence to interact with other children and adults  
* promotes nutritionally complete programs that follow the student nutrition guidelines, established by the Ministry of Children Community and Social Services for breakfast, lunch, and snack.
