Description (Service)

ADULT SERVICES offers a variety of residential options to adults who have a special needs including group home living, intensive residential living arrangements, family home living, and respite.

RESIDENTIAL AND RESPITE SERVICES Group Home Living located throughout Niagara provide typical home environments for small groups of people. Twenty-four hour supports are provided by trained staff. Individuals living in group homes participate in daily living activities and become active members of their community.

Intensive Residential Services is for adults with a developmental disability and challenging behaviours who require more intensive and individualized residential supports. Offers a smaller living environment with intensive staffing and other individualized supports as defined through an individualized support plan

Family home Living offers community living in a family setting. The program offers the opportunity to experience the support, warmth and guidance that family living can offer. Also offers the opportunity for participants to become involved in their community.

Respite Services is for adults with a developmental disability who live at home with their family. Offers weekend activity-based respite in an eight-bedroom home setting in Vineland. Participants enjoy a variety of recreational opportunities based on the individual's interests, strengths and needs. During the summer months and periodically throughout the year, respite services are offered during the week and individuals may utilize this service for up to two weeks. Special conditions apply.

DAY ACTIVITIES, RECREATION AND LEISURE PROGRAMS Offer a variety of additional day supports within the community of Niagara including day activities, recreation and leisure, drama, and music therapy. Programs encourage individuals in a variety of enjoyable interests and pastimes which are designed to support physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual needs

Day Activities & Recreation & Leisure Services are for adults with a developmental disability who are within Bethesda's residential services. Through individualized planning, Bethesda's Day Activities services can provide support to adults who reside in other residential services within Niagara or have access to Passport Funding and what to purchase individualized day supports.

Music Therapy provided by a registered music therapist is available to individuals receiving residential support from Bethesda. Music Therapy is available for other individuals or groups residing in Niagara on a fee-for-service basis.

Chaplaincy & Bereavement Support Services are for adults with a developmental disability who are supported within Bethesda's residential and/or day services within the community of Niagara.
