Service and Access Details
Description (Service) Provides information and the collection of garbage, recycling and organics for Niagara Region.  
 
Large Household Item Collection: 
-only single-family homes and apartments with 6 or less units are eligible for this service and items must at the curb by 7am on regular collection day. 
-pick up requests must be submitted at least two working days before your regular garbage collection day by contacting your collection contractor or by using the online form. 
 
Lincoln and West Lincoln call Canadian Waste Management only at 289-723-1230 or 1-877-780-9781 to schedule collection. 
 
Grimsby, Wainfleet, Pelham, Welland, St. Catharines, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Thorold, Niagara Falls, Port Colborne and Fort Erie call Emterra Environmental at 905-227-7771 or 1-855-227-7771 to schedule collection.

-refrigeration units including refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners are also collected as part of this service but require a Refrigerant Removal sticker. Residents must purchase a Refrigerant Removal sticker for $20 each, from local convenience stores (i.e. Avondale). Refrigerator and freezer doors must be removed and/or secured to prevent possible danger to children.

-broken containers (Blue Box, Grey Box, Green Bin, Kitchen Catchers) are also collected as part of the large item pick-up program. A broken container sticker is required, which can be obtained at any container distribution location.
