Description (Service) | An Occupational Therapy based service providing: Hand Therapy: Treatment of hand and arm injuries such as post-surgical repairs of tendons and broken bones to arthritis and cumulative trauma like carpal tunnel syndrome. Treatment involves hands on therapy, use of modalities, home exercise and splints as appropriate. Stroke Rehabilitation: Focus on return of physical ability of both the upper and lower extremities with special attention given to the arm and hand. Treatment can include the use of exercise, retraining, modalities, mirror therapy, sensory re-education and management of swelling Lymphedema and Lymphovenous insufficiency therapy: Therapy utilizes best practice through the use of education, skin care, compression, manual lymph drainage and exercise Office Ergonomic Assessments: On-site assessment, work-site modifications and written recommendations. Assistive Devices Program (ADP) authorizer for compression/pressure garments. Fitter for compression garments both for venous insufficiency and for lymphedema (upper and lower extremity). |

Eligibility | Clients of all ages are accepted in both the hand therapy/splinting program and lyphedema program. However, for individuals with neurological issues the minimum age is 16 years of age. |

Fees | Service - Initial Assessment, and one hour lymphedema and neurological treatments $90, follow-up appointments $60 ; Fees are covered by private payers, some extended health benefits, WSIB (Workplace Safety & Insurance Board), and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) insurance. ADP (Assitive Devices Program) may cover up to 75% of the cost of some lymphedema bandaging products and compression garments. |
