Description (Service) Offering programs such as: 
CLARS – Coordinated Language Assessment and Referral System – assessment of English language skills for federal and provincial language training programs – referral to community-bases ESL (English as a Second language) and LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) classes – information and referral on settlement needs – funded by CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) and MCI ( Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration – Ontario) 
NIC - Newcomer Information Centre - distributes resources related to all aspects of settlement * shares information with existing agencies * wherever possible, the client is served in their first language * staff can be reached at 905-684-3500 ext 450 or by email to 
SWIS - Settlement Workers In Schools - a link between newcomer families, schools and the community * explain essential school information to newcomers and refer them to appropriate school staff * facilitate the settlement of newcomers and inform them about services and programs * services offered are primarily information and referral * for more information contact Rohaina Saqib at 905-684-3500 ext 437, or by email to * Program can also be accessed by requesting SWIS support from the principal of the school the student is attending, this is for both the Catholic and public school boards. 
Youth Programs - YJC, YJCS and YJL providing youth who are facing challenging life situations with the tools, resources, funding and supports with making informed education and career planning decisions.

Eligibility Assessment Centre -- Newcomers to Canada 18 years and over who are Canadian Citizens, permanent residents or Convention refugees or Refugee Claimants
