Description (Service) | The objective of the Department is to enhance among Canadians a sense of belonging to the country by promoting the use and understanding of the traditions and heritage of Canada and by increasing opportunities for participating fully in either official language in the educational, economic and social aspects of life. It is mandated to advise in matters of protocol and to manage state ceremonies, royal visits, Canadian anniversaries, Canada Day and the Canadian Exhibit Program and state funerals. Will provide information on Canadian flag protocol/rules and advice. For info on flag etiquette for Remembrance Day contact the local Royal Canadian Legion. |
