Description (Service) Niagara’s Avanti Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Rachel Rensink-Hoff, is a community-based mixed chamber choir, performing mainstream choral literature, both accompanied and a cappella, including Canadian and Niagara-based composers. Performances typically include a wide array of old and new musical styles, from short compositions to extended choral works. Three season concerts each year as part of Brock University’s Viva Voce Choral Series. Concerts usually include the participation of accompanist Lesley Kingham and guest instrumentalists.

Choral experience, a secure singing voice and music reading ability are required.
Application Auditions are available year round but are typically scheduled in early fall, early winter and late spring. No preparation is necessary. Potential choristers will meet with the conductor to assess vocal range, undergo a range of vocal exercises and a music reading test. Contact the choir via

Print Material Avanti Chamber Singers has released three CD recordings of choral works by Niagara composers, each including a 12-page booklet: "Glorious Light" (Christmas), was released November 2012; "Gate of the Year" (Sacred Music) was released November 16, 2013; "Beauty is Before Me" was released November 2014.
