Description (Service) Fulfills the federal government's obligations and commitments to First Nations, Inuit and Métis * also deals with specific rights and benefits for First Nations people such as "Indian Status" and, in some cases, managing band moneys or individual estates * Certificates of Indian Status (Registered Indians - the Indian Register is the official record identifying all Status Indians in Canada) * supports northern Canadians to develop healthier, more sustainable communities
