Description (Service) | Geared towards linking education institutions, their newcomers and domestic students, with experiential learning opportunities Services include: Links for Greener Schools * Food literacy, waste management and gardening program designed for elementary and secondary schools. Offers workshops, cooking classes, school campaigns, waste audits and garden development. Environmental Awareness and Education for Newcomers * Series of workshops designed to help newcomers develop awareness and skills in the area of waste management, water and energy conservation. Growing Diversity Garden * Raises awareness among newcomers about food, how to grow organic food * Provides an opportunity to continue cooking traditional recipes * Gardens provide opportunity for recreation, exercise, education and the opportunity to meet people and practice English Good Food Box * Provides fresh and affordable produce that are purchased from local farmers and wholesalers * The goal of the GFB is to provide a way to families who cannot afford it access to fresh healthy food. * Each month, boxes will be delivered to central host sites that are easy to access throughout the Niagara Region * Available to anyone in the Niagara Region who will benefit from the program. * Contact goodfood@linksforgreenerlearning.org for information or to order |
