Description (Service)

Provides support services for sexual assault survivors and their family and friends * Targeted towards students and youth at Brock, Niagara College, and local high schools

Services include:

24 Hour Texting Support Line * Immediate crisis support and intervention, options, information, and referrals * All text messages are returned within 30 minutes * Anyone wishing to receive phone support can text using their name (real or fake name) and a number for reaching them

Advocacy * Advocates on behalf of clients -- may include accompaniments to the doctor's or hospital, help with Brock administration, etc * Advocacy services can be accessed by emailing, texting support line, or calling business line

In-Person Support *support for anything needed - may include emotional support, financial/practical support, referrals or just a safe place to relax and hang out

Peer support * support can be long-term (weekly) or a single session -- offers phone, email, text and in-person support * completely anonymous support available -- text or email and an email account and password will be sent for client's use

Court Support * provides court information, court preparation and accompaniment/support throughout process

Public Education * educating for social change and raising awareness around issues of sexual violence at Brock * public education workshops available on wide range of topics for various audiences

Urgent Needs Cupboard and Fund * provides a safe and anonymous way for survivors of sexual violence to get food, bus tickets, toiletries, blankets, clothing and other requested items
