| Description (Service) | Provides grants of up to $3,500 to homeowners who have or are at risk of having a sanitary back-up as a result of sewer surcharging. FLAP consists of a grant to offset the cost of eligible work, which may include: * The installation of a backwater valve to stop sewage back-ups * The installation of a sump pump with a back-up pump (battery or water-powered) * The disconnection of weeping tiles from the sanitary sewer * The re-connection of these weeping tiles to the sump pump * All materials and labour associated with the installation of the protective devices |
