Description (Service) COVID-19 - All services remain available with safety precautions in place. In-shelter volunteer program is suspended until further notice. See website for updates.  
A charitable organization that assists abused women and their children. Qualified and experienced staff provide telephone counselling 24-hours a day; one-to-one and group counselling; safe, temporary shelter in a 34-bed home; meals and emergency clothing; children's counselling and recreation programs; support programs for women in the community who are fleeing from violence; Family law advice and information, and advocacy in the criminal justice system; public education; and referrals to other community services. Services are available to both residents and non residents. All services are free and confidential. Also offer speakers on women abuse and related topics and undertake community fundraising. 
Family Court Support Worker Program -- -- information on the family court process * assistance in preparing for family court proceedings (documenting history of abuse, accessing Legal Aid) * referral to specialized services and supports in the community * safety planning * court accompaniment to proceedings when appropriate
