Description (Service) | COVID-19 - The Reach Out Centre Dining Hall is closed until further notice. Pre-packaged take-out meals will be provided to registered clients during modified hours as listed below. Port Cares and CAA will be working together to deliver prepackaged grocery hampers to seniors and people with disabilities. The hampers contain seven day’s worth of non-perishable food supplies. Seniors and people with disabilities will be screened over the phone to ensure they qualify to receive the support. Over-the-phone screening for food bank eligibility is based on location and the Ontario low income cut-off. Those in need can call the Reach Out Centre to register. Provides tangible support and assistance to residents in Port Colborne and Surrounding area. Food Bank: Residents can visit monthly for non-perishable food items and weekly for perishable items when they are available. See modified service hours for COVID-19 below. Community Meal Programs: A nutritious, hot meal served 3 days per week Community Garden: Learn to grow fresh, inexpensive and nutritious vegetables (seasonal) Job Readiness Training: Classes for general job readiness - Food Service Worker and Light Industrial training (occasional) Health Programs: Ever-changing community health classes such as cooking circles (call for info about current programming) Information and referral: Staff will provide assistance with navigating services Lunch Kits: Weekly lunch supplies for elementary & high school children (including bread, meat, snacks, etc) |
