Sometimes because of circumstances in a family, a boy or a girl needs a special friend: someone to spend one-on-one time with, to provide recreational and educational outings, and to give guidance and positive role modeling. We are looking for male and female volunteers who are looking to share their interests with children ages typically 6 to 13 years of age. This role is beneficial for anyone who is interested in gaining volunteer experience in a social service setting.

Big Bunch allows children to experience the benefits of group mentorship while they wait for their Big Brother or Big Sister. A Big Bunch Mentor is matched with a group of 1-4 children from the wait list. They get together once or twice a month for a period of at least six months. Low to no-cost activities are encouraged. Activities could include bowling, video games, basketball, hiking, crafts, etc. Join in the fun with Big Bunch! Access to transportation is mandatory. Discounts in the community are available.

Game On! Mentor [ More info  ]  
Facilitate (with a Co-mentor) 8-10 sessions to teach young boys about Healthy Eating, Active Living, Wise Decision Making, and Developing a Positive Self-Esteem. The program typically runs after school, lasting about two hours, with 8-12 boys in each group. 
 
The program is designed to be FUN and interactive through games, discussions and snack time.

In-School Mentor [ More info  ]  
Mentor a child one hour per week, during school hours. Be a positive and supportive role model to a child. All visits occur during the school year and on school property. Meet with your 'mentee' one hour per week and engage in fun, social activities - such as games, gym time, reading, puzzles, computers, crafts, baking etc. 
 
This minimal time investment will have a lifetime impact on a child. A little time can make a BIG difference.
