Petersons is a non-profit, charitable organization operated by volunteers since 1977, who strive to encourage creativity through instructional classes to all ages and levels in the visual arts. Petersons has a Board of Directors who are elected at an annual meeting and who meet monthly to organize Petersons business. Petersons also serves the Community and tourists with a 'personal touch' gift shop and gallery which promotes local artists, artisans and students and their wares. We are home to the City Wide Teen Art Competition.
BenefitsBeing a volunteer at Petersons allows you to interact with its members, students and customers. Volunteers are integral to Petersons, thus allowing Petersons to fulfill their mandate in creating an awareness of art in the community. Proceeds from the gift store, gallery and classes go towards to operational costs of the already designated Heritage Building as well as to the artists who contribute by showing/selling their art. With various planned events throughout the year, Petersons also offers students the opportunity to obtain Community Service Credit. Petersons also offers Volunteer appreciation.
