| Duties | We are the Rape Crisis Centre for the Niagara region. We need volunteers to help with our 24-hour crisis line, peer support program, front desk reception, and accompaniment programs. 10-week training program provided. Learn about the impacts of trauma, responding and crisis intervention skills. If you are interested, contact Cheri for an appointment. 3 courses run per year, fall, winter and spring. | |||
| Benefits | Work from your home, gain experience in social work and counseling fields, maximum 4-6 shifts per month, customize your own volunteer hours, great for students, women who work in the home. Gain experience as a crisis line counselor and then access peer support, and advocacy and accompaniment programs. | |||
| Clients | Adult survivors of childhood rape, sexual abuse, incest and adult sexual assault. | |||
| Dates and Times | Monday: Evening Tuesday: Evening Wednesday: Evening Thursday: Evening Friday: Evening Saturday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening Sunday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening Assist staff in covering our 24-hour crisis line. We need help week evenings and weekends. Very flexible shifts, we accommodate you! | |||
