DescriptionOffers day camps for children during the summer months. 
 
CAMP MIKINAWK: 1 week camps for children ages 5-13 yrs at Centennial Park in Grimsby. Offered Mon-Fri from 9-3:30. Includes active and passive games, archery, swimming (daily), theme days, arts and crafts and organized special events. Children must bring their lunch, sun screen, swim suit and towel. Bus pick-up and drop-off locations in Grimsby. Extended care option also available some weeks for an additional fee. Special themes weeks and traditional camp weeks. This program operates rain or shine. 
 
JUNIOR DAYCAMP MIKINAWK: 2-1/2-6yrs at Nelles Public School (July) & Grimsby Peach King Centre(August). Program runs for half day sessions Mon-Fri from 9-11:30 am or 12:30-3:30 pm and some full day weeks. Children explore the world of arts and crafts, music, storytelling, active and passive games and creative play. A great introduction to the camp environment. 
 
LEADER IN TRAINING: 14-17 yrs. A two week program designed for the younger teen as an introduction to leadership development and training. Through hands-on activities and cooperative games, participants explore and learn about teamwork, problem solving, communication and leadership while meeting lots of new people. Participants practice their new skills in a two-day placement in a camp setting. Small fee required to cover the cost of T-shirts and training. 
 
PLAYGROUND: 5-12 yrs Drop-In Program: Morning 9-12; Afternoon 1-3:30 pm. Includes crafts, special theme days, active and passive games and swimming. Does not operate on rainy days. Various locations throughout the week. 
 
SPORTS CAMP: 5-13 yrs (age groups change each week - check our Leisure guide for specific details). A week full of sports, active games and friends. Offers a wide variety of sports each week according to the theme, weather and of course, participant interest. Offered Mon-Fri 9-3:30 pm, extended care available. Will be offering a bus trip to see the Toronto Blue Jays on Aug 12 as part of that week's camp. 
 
TENNIS LESSONS: for youth 6-12 yrs from 9-10:30 am or 10:30-12 noon and for youth 12-16 from 9-12 noon. Includes fundamental skills, rules, court etiquette and fun of course. Program runs in 1 week sessions from July to August. 
 
RACQUETBALL LESSONS: 1 hour sessions for ages 10-13 yrs or 14-17 yrs. Taught by an enthusiastic and fun instructor. Offered in 2 week sessions for one hour. 
 
BASKETBALL CAMP: Program includes daily instruction from the coaching staff, games and new drills and plays. July 18-22 (6-8 yrs), July 25-29 (8-10 yrs), August 8-12 (9-13 yrs) 
 
Jr. Trail Blazers: 10-15 yrs. A week spent learning mountain bike skills ranging from the basics to more advanced techniques, such as: proper bike setup, gearing, braking, climbing and descending, bunny hopping, dealing with obstacles on 
the trail, riding on different types of terrain, and skills competitions. Offered Jul 25-29, and Aug 22-26, 9-3:30pm. 
 
AQUATICS - offer a wide variety of aquatics programs from pre-school to advanced leadership to semi-private lessons. Also offer swim team, adult swimming, public swimming and private rentals. The Grimsby Lions Pool is running the Red Cross Water Safety program.
