DescriptionProvides services to meet the needs of newly arrived immigrants and refugees by offering free assistance, support and information.  
 
SETTLEMENT SERVICES  
Provides assistance to newcomers, immigrants, refugees and Canadians of all age groups.  
 
Settlement Program (formerly Immigrant Settlement and Adaptation Program) -- services to enable immigrants and refugees to integrate into Canadian society including orientation programs, language and skills training to help facilitate employment, and programs to welcome newcomers to the community * individual agencies may provide needs and eligibility assessments, pre- and post-arrival information and referral, job search and employment counselling, assistance to establish social and professional networks to promote community engagement, and assistance to access a range of settlement services* Help with filling out applications such as work/study permit, permanent residence in Canada and citizenship; explanation of the immigration process and/or documents 
 
Newcomer Settlement Program provides information and referral, assistance filling out government forms, supportive counseling, problem solving, settlement and orientation for immigrants and refugees * Referrals - Legal Aid, lawyers, Ontario Works, doctors, ESL, employment services and other community agencies * Orientation to the community - Housing, social assistance, health care and other issues that may arise as clients settle to their new life in Canada. * Advocacy for our clients with other agencies ~ Workshops on topics of interest to newcomers. Community Connections Mentorship Program (formerly HOST Program) -- group activities for newly arrived immigrants and refugees of all ages to help orient them to their new community and establish social and professional networks * trained and experienced volunteer mentors assist, with focus on citizenship and civic engagement or skills and career developmentSocial events are programmed along with Conversation Circles to assist with language skills. Youth Services 
Supports newcomer youth age 13 to 24 years of age. The program offers a variety of opportunities for youth to meet new people, learn about the community and try new things. Offers a variety of services including youth group, cooking classes, sports, arts and much more. Provides supports to youth clients including assistance with college and university applications, tutors, resume and job search help, educational workshop, etc. Also opportunities for both newcomer and Canadian youth to earn volunteer hours for school and personal growth as well as connecting newcomer youth to other volunteer opportunities in the community. The coordinator is in the Niagara Falls office on Tuesdays from 8:30-4:30, youth groups runs Tuesdays at St. Ann's from 4-6pm. Other days and time are available upon request. JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP PROGRAM FOR NEWCOMERS (JSW) 
Offering newcomers to Canada assistance with practical job search knowledge and skills. Our goal is to provide new immigrants and convention refugees, with the necessary skills and information for an effective job search. Each month an intensive three-day Job Search Workshop is offered in both St Catharines and Niagara Falls (other cities on a non-monthly basis). Contact the JSW Support Worker.

Community Connections Adult and Youth Services: Newcomers to Canada - immigration papers or permanent resident card required. 
Job Search Workshop (JSW): Eligible immigration status must be: Permanent Resident, Convention Refugee, Intent-to-Land, or Live-in Caregiver, who are ready, willing and able to work in Canada, must have basic English language communication abilities.
