DescriptionA registered, non-profit, charitable organization providing gently-used home furnishings to eligible families throughout the Niagara Region * accepts donations from the public, hotels, residences and furniture stores 
 
Donated items must be in reusable condition * items deemed unsuitable cannot be picked up nor receipted * charitable receipts will be provided for suitable furnishings * charitable receipts are based on current market value at a set price and are non-negotiable unless a copy of a valid appraisal (done at own expense) is provided to the driver at the time of item collection

Items that cannot be collected: office funiture * televisions * king size beds * computers * major appliances * cribs * clothing * toys * decorative items * curtains * large entertainment centres * broken or stained items 
 
Some household items may be picked-up free of charge by other organizations or through city garbage collection however they either go to land fill or are sold * Hope Furniture Bank redistributes items to the families and individuals who apply for service through partnered social service agencies including Ontario Works, Ontario Disability, Community Mental Health, Canadian Mental Health Association, YWCA Shelters, Gillians Place, Hannah House, Southridge Shelter, Family and Childrens Services, NCIL, Port Cares, Hope Centre, Community Cares, Housing Help Centre, Gateway Niagara

ApplicationAn individual can only access donations by being referred by one of our partnered social agencies such as: Ontario Works (OW), Family and Children's Services (FACS), Community Mental Health, Gateway Niagara, YWCA, South Ridge Shelter and Community Care - Housing Help Centre, St Catharines. 
 
The individual should speak with their caseworker/ advocate about the referral process. Organizations in the Niagara Region wanting to apply to be a referring partner can call/ e-mail to arrange a meeting to discuss becoming a referring agency to the Hope Furniture Bank.
FeesService - Service - Curb-side Ready Donation Pick Up Service $25 or starting at $50 if they have to enter the home ; Curb-side Delivery Service Fees - Family and Individual rates (No fees for furniture received, only delivery service to recoup cost of preparing and getting furnishings to the door)
EventsWatch for dates and locations for upcoming 2013 drop off events and drives: "It's the Little Things that Matter" will focus on bedding, towels, kitchenwares, lamps.
