Public BulletinBeginning on March 24, 6 am, pregnant women planning to give birth at the Niagara Health System will have their babies at the new St Catharines site at 1200 Fourth Ave. 
 
Sunday March 24th: At 6 am patient transfer from St Catharines General to new hospital begins. ER will stop accepting new patients at 6 am. Patients will be directed to the new facility at 1200 Fourth Ave or taken there by ambulance as necessary. Patients currently admitted to the St Catharines General Hospital Queenston site will be transferred over to the 1200 Fourth Ave location throughout Sunday March 24th. 
 
On Saturday March 23rd the Urgent Care Centre in St Catharines at the Ontario St site will close at 10 pm. It will open at the new 1200 Fourth Ave site Sunday March 24th.

DescriptionThe Niagara Health System provides hospital-based services at seven sites serving a catchment area of more than 430,000 people throughout Niagara. 
Locations are: Douglas Memorial Site in Fort Erie; Greater Niagara General Site in Niagara Falls; Niagara-on-the-Lake Site; Port Colborne Site; St Catharines General Site; St Catharines' Ontario Street Site; and Welland Site.  
The NHS has almost 900 Acute care, Complex care, Mental Health, Long-Term care and Addiction Recovery beds, and a wide range of outpatient clinics and programs. The NHS has 4,150 employees, approximately 600 physicians, and over 1,100 volunteers.
