Description & Services
Areas ServedNiagara Region
DescriptionThe Goal of Niagara Gatekeepers is to identify "at risk" seniors and link them with community support agencies. The program enables members of the community to identify the signs of a senior who may need help to ensure his or her health and social well being. The program links seniors who are not already connected to services and programs before a crisis situation develops.
Connecting a senior to needed services is easy. Calling the confidential phone line to provide information about a senior ensures a follow up visit from one of three partner agencies. With the consent of the senior, ongoing services will be provided by the most appropriate agency. Volunteers are needed to provide public education on a casual basis.
