DescriptionSupports persons with serious mental health problems who are in crisis 24hrs/day, 7 days/week. Seven safe beds are available as a community alternative for individuals who do not require hospitalization. The role of the safe bed staff is to aid individuals while they resolve their crisis and to link them with available support in the community.

St Catharines Mon-Fri 11 am-11 pm, Sat & Sun 2 pm-10 pm * Niagara Falls Mon-Fri 11 am-11 pm, Sat & Sun 1 pm-11 pm * Welland Mon-Fri 2 pm-10 pm, Sat, Sun 4 pm-10 pm * Holidays at St Catharines and Niagara Falls sites 2 pm-10 pm

Safe Beds Eligibility - Individuals experiencing a self identified mental health crisis, who are agreeable to the service, who are not impaired by alcohol or drugs and who do not pose a health and safety risk to themselves or others.

ApplicationFor Community Crisis care, report to one of the three hospital sites: St Catharines, Niagara Falls or Welland. 
 
Referrals for the Safe Bed Program can come from Community Crisis Care, Psychiatrists, Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, Psychologists or Community Agencies. Self referrals are not currently accepted at Safe Beds.
