DescriptionNiagara Region offers an extensive weekly curbside recycling program. The Blue Box program collects containers and the Grey Box program collects paper products.

EventsJune 16 - Environment Day (E-Day) - 8 am-3 pm in the back lot of the Seaway Mall in Welland - Gives Niagarans the chance to drop off their recycled goods. Crews will take hazardous waste, as well as reusable clothes and household items, scrap metal, electronics, used ink cartridges and cellphones, glasses, used rechargeable batteries, tires from car and pickup trucks and stuff fit for the Blue or Grey Box. 
Building materials, big appliances and tractor and truck tires are not allowed. 
The Hope Centre will also be collecting non-perishable food items the day.

Oct 22-Nov 2 - Two-week pilot project for curbside battery collection for Pelham, Welland and Port Colborne. 
* Batteries will be picked up on regularly scheduled garbage and recycling days

* Residents who live outside the pilot project area should visit www.makethedrop.ca to find Orange Drop locations where they can drop off batteries
