| Description | A charitable voluntary sector, community-based organization which initially began as a support group for women living with breast cancer in 1991. The organization's mandate is to provide women living with and beyond breast cancer with informational and support resources. The foundation of the organization's work is to further the understanding of breast cancer, particularly the connection between environment and health. Built on a public interest research model, BCREF seeks to affect social change through research, education and action. BCREF provides many community-based educational events and resources on breast health, breast cancer prevention, and recurrence prevention. | |||
| Supplementary Description | The Living Well Clinic is a free service for women living with and beyond breast cancer. It is coordinated by the Breast Cancer Research and Education Fund's - Niagara Breast Cancer Support Group. Along with an opportunity for informal conversation, the aim of the clinic is to offer women a program that supports the development of personal resources for living well. Also offers a space to provide women with a temporary release from the discomforts & anxiety associated with breast cancer.
