| Description | Helps Ontarians find sustainable employment * assessment of skills, capabilities, interests and experience * job search strategies, including resume preparation * information about different careers and occupations, the local labour market, employment and training opportunities * on-the-job training and/or work experience and, in some cases, additional support to help maintain employment * information and referrals to all Employment Ontario Funded Programs including Second Career Program for laid-off workers and the Ontario Self Employment Benefit Program (OSEB), which offers income and entrepreneurial support during the process of developing and launching a business * information about, and referral to, other community services and supports
Incorporates services previously provided through Job Connect, Employment Assistance Services (EAS), Employment Resource Centres and other programs * Summer Jobs Service program remains separate for the time being
Also provides Targeted Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW) for those 55 to 64 years (or 65 and older if all TIOW criteria are met) who are unemployed (out of work or working less than an average of 20 hours per week), are legally entitled to work in Canada, and lack skills needed to find a new job * broad range of training and supports * assists in finding new jobs by matching skills and experience with the needs of local employers wanting to hire
