DescriptionCrown Assets Distribution Centres (CADC), within Public Works and Government Services Canada, dispose of all moveable federal government surplus and seized moveable material through six regional CADCs across Canada as well as through competitively selected contracted suppliers. Sale of material is conducted by various means including tender, public sales, auctions, and in some cases, destruction.

For over 50 years, CADCs have been involved in the direct sale of surplus material ranging from ships and cars to furniture and clothing on behalf of federal government departments and agencies. Today, in addition to direct sales, CADCs tender of disposal services from the private sector to further provide the best disposal alternatives to their clients. CADCs are also responsible for the disposal of seized goods and livestock.

CADCs also act as agents for foreign governments in the sale of their surplus assets located in Canada. CADCs also have working arrangements with certain European governments for disposal of Canadian military surplus located in their countries.
