DescriptionPalliative Care comforts and supports individuals and their families who are living with a life-limiting illness such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS), COPD, stroke, or other end-stage diseases which are no longer responsive to a cure approach. 
From the time of diagnosis or referral to the team, Palliative Care provides ongoing support to meet the individual's unique physical, psychological, social, cultural, emotional and spiritual expectations and needs. This service is offered in all hospital sites within the Niagara Health System 
Volunteer Services-We have a group of trained volunteers to provide supportive care to patients and their families, as well as respite care for families. This is an inpatient program. Volunteers are available for all hospital sites within the Niagara Health System. 
Bereavement Services - After the loss of a loved one, bereavement support is available either on a one-to-one basis, through group meetings, or by phone contact. Registration is required for groups.
