DescriptionThe Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is one of 14 LHINs established across the province to plan, integrate and fund local health care. While LHINs do not directly provide health care services, they are responsible for planning, integrating and funding these services in consultation with, and based on the needs of, the people and providers in their communities.

The services include community support services, community health centres, Community Care Access Centres, mental health and addictions services, long term care homes, and hospital services.
Supplementary DescriptionEach LHIN will be governed by a nine member Board of Directors appointed by the province from among members of the local community. The board will make decisions about health services based on the values and preferences of communities, a sound understanding of the issues and available resources. The day-to-day running of the LHIN will be managed by the LHIN CEO, who will report directly to the board.
