| Description | Provides the following services: DIVORCE AND SEPARATION GROUP FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN A five week educational group for children/youth and parents to understand the impact of separation and divorce. Parents learn about the impact of separation and divorce on their children, and children/youth learn how to cope with the changes that occur. Participants learn and share with others in an atmosphere of respect and confidentiality. Children and youth are in their own groups with others of similar ages. Children/youth groups run at the same date and time as the parent groups. Parents will learn: The effects of separation/divorce on children/youth ~ What behaviours and emotions to expect from children/youth ~ How to develop strategies to help children/youth cope ~ The importance of keeping children/youth out of the middle of conflict Children/youth will learn: How families change and the different types of families ~ To identify feelings that go with this change and how to express their feelings in a healthy manner ~ Who they can go to for support ~ How to keep out of parents' issues PARENT AND CHILD RECONCILIATION COUNSELLING Reconciliation counselling offers a divorced/separated parent who has not seen their child(ren) for a period of time, or children who are resisting visits an opportunity to re-connect and re-establish a relationship in a supported, neutral, and safe environment. Custody or access must have been agreed on and/or court ordered. For post-divorce families having difficulty following through with regular and consistent access with children that has been agreed upon and/or Court ordered. PRIVATE COUNSELLING One to one counselling is available with a trained clinician to assist children or families to cope with the stresses of separation or divorce, as well as adjust to issues related to living in a blended family. |

| Fees | Service - Retainer - $950; $95/hour ; Parent and Child Reconciliation Counselling: Retainer $950(covers 10 sessions at $95/hour), fees charged at one time charge of $170 to open file Divorce & Separation Group: Parent and 1 or 2 children $180; Parent with 3 or more $200; Parent only $100. Family Mediation and Individual Counselling: $95/hour DAS Workshop also available. Note: You may be eligible for group insurance coverage through your employer for the above services. |
