Description & Services

DescriptionA support group for stroke survivors, their family and caregivers. Meetings are informal and provide the opportunity for "Stroke Folks" and their caregivers to discuss everyday issues and experiences (if they wish).
Usually the group meets together for approximately 45 minutes and then separates into two groups (survivor and caregiver). These separate sessions allow specific issues related to each group to be addressed.
SOS also invites guest speakers to address the questions and issues of the group.
All meeting locations are wheelchair accessible.

There are three meetings per month - a Morning Meeting, Afternoon Meeting, and an Evening Meeting. The afternoon meetings are a combined meeting of the Niagara Falls Chapter, the St Catharines Chapter and the Welland Chapter, with a different Chapter chairing the meeting each month.
