| Description | The Mental Health Helpline (MHH) is a free and confidential province-wide, 24 hour a day, 7 days per week, service offering Ontarians round-the-clock access to information about mental health services across the province. MHH provides services in English or French and telephone interpretation is available in over 170 languages. MHH allows consumers, their families, service providers and others with an interest in mental health to access comprehensive information about mental health programs province-wide. Members of the public who call MHH seeking service for themselves or for a friend or family member will be referred to the most appropriate service point within the mental health system. Professional service providers seeking service and/or treatment options for a client will be assisted by information and referral specialists who are able to access a comprehensive database of information and carry out detailed searches for services. MHH is also able to provide statistical data and information about mental health services for research and planning purposes. Service is available via toll-free telephone, email, or webchat.
