| Description | Municipal Government offices including: Administration Department: includes Town Manager (Chief Administrative Officer) and Town Clerk (by-laws, minutes and proceedings of council, cemetery administration, marriage licensing, dog licensing, commissioner of oaths) Building/By-Law Enforcement Department: the Building Permits and Inspections Sevices section receives, reviews and issues building permit pplications in conformance with the Building Code Act, Ontario Building Code and other Applicable Law * includes property reports, inspections of properties under construction and granting occupancies * the By-law Enforcement section enforces city by-laws regulating use and activity on private property Finance Department: provides front counter service, receives payments, administers pre-authorized payments, tax billing and collection, accounts payable and payroll Fire Services: fire fighting, fire inspections and fire prevention Planning Department: provides Council with advice and recommendations on planning matters * undertakes land use-related studies * processes development applications * provides land-related information to Council, agencies, and the public * administers the Economic Development Program * supports Heritage Advisory Committee Programs Public Works: design, maintenance, construction, rehabilitation and winter control only on roadways under Town control * public works by-laws control and regulate maintenance of town property and may include private property (such as the Weed Control By-law or altering a swale on private property) Roads Department: maintains all town-owned roads and parking lots * roadway signs and street name signs on Town-owned roads * storm sewers on Town roads * tree maintenance on Town boulevards * for removal of dead animals please call 1-800-263-2469 |
