| Description | Provides animal control and acts as a humane society. Services include: Investigation of complaints of neglect and abuse ~ Issue of compliance orders-proper care and housing ~ Seizure of animals in distress (Our Cost) ~ Criminal charges for neglect ~ 24 hour emergency service provided ~ Care of abandoned and owned animals ~ Vet care for the sick and injured ~ Care for injured wildlife ~ Provide adoption program. $25 towards every unaltered (not spayed or neutered) animal adopted ~ Visitation to Hospital, Nursing Homes and Schools with education program ~ Provide two trucks for Humane work and Animal control services. Animal Control Services include: Enforce By-Laws: Running at Large ~ No Licence ~ Fail to Scoop ~ Allow more than three dogs ~ Breeding without a Kennel Licence ~ Dangerous dog By-Law ~ Permitting dog on the beach, park or cemetery. Issue Provincial Offences Tickets ~ Court Appearances ~ Patrol streets, parks, beaches and schools ~ Inspect Kennels and Pet shops ~ Attend training sessions ~ Act as pound keeper for the Town of Fort Erie. DOG LICENCES The dog licences for 2011 are now available at The Fort Erie SPCA. Your 2010 licence expired December 31, 2010. Your licence must be renewed before March 31, 2011, after that date the late fee of $10 is added. | |||
