DescriptionFacilitates the farmer's market, recreation and leisure needs of Welland residents in partnership with sports/recreation/culture groups. Provides general interest courses and workshops for residents from preschool age to seniors. This includes classes and workshops for parents and children to interact together and with others. Provides volunteer training and educational opportunities and community special events. 
 
The City of Welland has more than 70 parks, trails and green spaces for community use. The newest one being the Welland Canal Trail and Merritt Island for public use. Other facilities available include: 2 municipal arenas, 3 small community halls, a new civic centre, and Youth Innovations - a youth centre at Seaway Mall. There are 2 arenas and 3 outdoor swimming pools, as well as 5 wading pools/splash pads.
Supplementary DescriptionA guide to leisure and recreational opportunities called the "Wellness Guide" is released by the department twice a year. Copies are available at the Welland Parks, the Welland Community Wellness Complex, the Welland Public Library and City Hall. For information on city-wide events and activities visit the website.

FeesMembership - Welland Community Wellness Complex ; Program - Senior, Adult, Youth and Children ; Fee assistance available for Welland families experiencing financial difficulties which enables their children aged 3 to 13 to participate in recreational programs. ; assistance is provided by Wellness for All fund.
